This 4 week workshop is a great way to learn a few different handbuilding skills as well as an introduction to glazing.

The workshop will run over 4 weeks.

Friday 9th August - Bellied out Mugs 2 1/2 hours

Friday 16th August - Vases 2 1/2 hours

Friday 23rd August - Bowl and Trinket Dish or a Tea Light House 2 1/2 hours

Friday 6th September - Glazing (please note this is two weeks after week 3 to allow for drying and bisque firing) 3 hours

Clay used for these workshops is a grogged stoneware.  The speckled clay will be available as well but there will be an extra $15 charge for this clay due to price increases.

For the glazing workshop you will be able to paint your pieces with underglaze and a clear glaze or select from a selection of test tiles.  You will even be able to select some with 2 different colours that I know work well and won't run.

Price includes all materials and tools needed

Your finished items will be available approximately 2 weeks after the glazing workshop.

This is a small class with a maximum of 6 people.  

Available for ages 15 plus

Please wear clothes you don't mind getting grubby, or bring an apron.   It is advisable to have reasonably short nails when working with clay.  If you do have nails we can work around it but you might find that  you need to clean up the clay a bit more (even small nails will leave marks as we make the items).

Refreshment will be provided but feel free to BYO if you would like a wee dabble during the class.

Please also be aware that due to the nature of pottery and firing x 2 means that sometimes things don't work out as they should.  I dry mugs super slowly but sometimes cracks etc still form.   It happens, it still happens to me and any potter you talk too will say the same.   I will do my utmost best and handle all your mugs with care but please be aware due to the nature of the craft there may be a breakage.   I really hope not, but sometimes it just happens.
